eGate-Android MDM_Continued

Continuing the discussion from eGate–Android MDM:

An update here on webview exceptions. It turns out that in some instances you need to add some system packages to the exceptions list for Gmail to work. For example, on my Lenovo tablet, I needed to add this list:

How are I going to know what packages to add, you ask? Well, it so happens that if you re-download and install the latest version, there is a new option in the accessibility section of eGate named Debug Accessibility Filter. If you enable that option, eGate will inform you of the package name each time it blocks a WebView. I’d love to continue getting all of your feedback on this.

Were does it show that?

Nevermind got it, works great now

Thanks. Everything in the accessibility section only works when the egate app is still open, as soon as you close it, it stops working.

I know I think it’s because the exit button stoped working

Is there any way to fix this?

I guess when the developer fixes it

I can say that the WhatsApp feature does work although it’s a little annoying that it crashes each time

ok thanks. also if you find a way to block webview in uber without blocking sign in let me know.

This update works great. And the new features are incredible
Thank you

Would this filter work well to make a Waze only (no calling/texting, etc) phone? What would be the specific steps? Is there a better option than this?

Block everything except Waze

By me its working perfectly

Mb smart filter (costs yearly)
Kosher Rom which you need to figure

anyone else having a problem with the DNS filter it doesn’t let me click on anything? im using the TIQ M5 phone

Anyone know of a way to block webview on Uber without blocking the sign in or does anyone have a special kosher Uber apk? there is one on apps4flips but it doesn’t let you sign into Uber.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback on the accessibility service issues. For some unknown reason, I can’t reproduce it on my own devices, but after a bit of google searching, it seems that this is a common problem, and the way to resolve it is to run the accessibility service in a separate process, which I didn’t know was something I could do. I updated the latest release apks to include this feature, so now I need some feedback if it makes any difference for you or not.

Okay I just downloaded it I didn’t test the above but I can tell you that the exit button still doesn’t work

Okay I just tried, it didn’t fix the issue the accessibility shuts down when you clear the app still, unless I have to uninstall the app and reinstall it from new I’m pretty sure this is an exit button issue
