it has pictures in the map not such a kosher app
The one I have in mind also has pictures It just works better for flip phones
i have the regular one from apkpure works perfectly. does yours also have IAB’s because mine might (never checked dont want to know)?

iab and pics should be possible to remove, would try removing them if it works without play services.
