Guide on Fixing GroupMe SMS Notifications Issue

Having trouble receiving SMS notifications from GroupMe? Whether it used to work or it never did, this guide offers two options to help you fix the issue. Let’s get started:

Option 1 (Easier)

This method works if you used to be in GroupMe groups.

  1. Go to any conversation in your messaging app that is a GroupMe group (one of your old groups that used to work).

  2. Send the word #sms.

  3. Wait for 5-10 minutes. If you get a response, congratulations, you’ve fixed the issue!

If this didn’t work, don’t worry, I have another way for you.

Option 2 (Longer)

This method works even if you never received SMS notifications from GroupMe.

  1. Go to the GroupMe and log in:

  • Try signing in with your phone number (you will get a verification text).

  • If this doesn’t work, sign in with your email. If you don’t have an existing account, create a new one.

  1. Go to Account Settings and enter your phone number.

  2. Go to Settings and turn on Receive SMS notifications.

  3. You should be all set!

Congratulations! You’ve fixed the issue!

Important Note:
