Did you always want to enable features like the camera on the lock screen, quick camera access by pressing the hang-up button twice, dark mode, swipe gestures, and search in settings by pressing any button, but don’t know how or don’t have time and patience? Well, now it’s easy! I’ve prepared all these configurations located in three files: Settings.apk
, SystemUI.apk
, and Framework-res.apk
, which you will need to replace on your phone using MT Manager. Note: This guide assumes your phone is rooted.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Download Necessary Files
- MT Manager.apk (18.4 MB)
- MtkSettings.apk (43.4 MB)
- MtkSystemUI.apk (21.3 MB)
- framework-res.apk (33.2 MB)
Step 2: Install and Open MT Manager
- Install MT Manager on your phone.
- Open the app and grant root access.
- Agree to the terms and conditions (Note: You don’t have to update the app).
Step 3: Navigate to Root Directory
- On the part of the app that shows root files, navigate to:
/system_ext/priv-app/MtkSystemUI/
- On the other side of the app that shows internal storage, navigate to where you downloaded the files (e.g.,
SystemUI.apk
).
Step 4: Replace SystemUI.apk
- Hold down the
SystemUI.apk
file. - Press on the ‘Copy’ option.
- Press ‘OK’ to copy and replace the existing file in the root directory.
Step 5: Replace Settings.apk
- Go back one folder in the root directory to:
/system_ext/priv-app/MtkSettings/
- On the internal storage side, hold down the
Settings.apk
file. - Perform the same steps to copy and replace the existing file.
Step 6: Replace Framework-res.apk
- Navigate to the root directory:
/system/framework/
- Hold down the
Framework-res.apk
file in the internal storage. - Copy and replace the existing file.
Step 7: Reboot Your Phone
- Restart your phone to apply the changes.
Results
After rebooting, you will have:
- Camera on the Lock Screen
- Quick Camera Access: Press the hang-up button twice to open the camera.
- Dark Mode: Access it by adding the dark theme tile.
- Swipe Gestures: Enable them through accessibility settings.
- Search in Settings: Press any button to bring up the search bar.
Additional Tips
- Enable Dark Mode: Pull down the notifications bar, click on the edit button next to the settings, scroll down to find the dark theme tile, drag it to the top, and toggle to switch themes, hold down the tile to enter dark theme settings, over there you can set a schedule for when dark theme turns on and off automatically. You can also search for “dark theme” in settings.
- Enable Swipe Gestures: Go to accessibility settings and enable swipe gestures.
