I got the Qin F21 Pro I ordered from Aliexpress. Is it normal for these to come with the bootloader unlocked in “orange state”? For all I know, with the bootloader unlocked this thing could have malware on it.
They usually don’t come unlocked but if they do you can just flash the custom 1.1.1
It does have the 1.1.1 version. I guess that is why it is unlocked.
Then I assume it’s safe to use keep us updated of your findings
I can’t find much about the custom 1.1.1 version online. Where might I find some info about it?
I was talking about the egate filter but you can find more information about this version over here
I’ve finally gotten to the bottom of why the Accessibility service gets disabled on Qin F21 Pro devices. There is a bug in the Activity Manager that shuts down all processes related to an app when the app is closed by the user. This is in contradiction to Android developer docs, where an option for running the service as a global process unrelated to the app is provided.
This difference in the F21 firmware is why I couldn’t reproduce the problem on other devices.
So here are the options for dealing with it.
- Add an option to eGate that prevents the user from launching it. If the app isn’t launched and closed, the accessibility service works just fine.
- Create a separate accessibility apk that would require an additional adb command to install.
So, which would you find most useful:
- Option 1
- Option 2
For option 1 how would you open it, and I thought it was a problem with the exit button
It’s not a problem with the exit button. It is a problem with the Android OS killing the accessibility service when the app closes. I have the button working again, and the service being killed is still a problem when eGate is removed from recent apps.
For option 1, you wouldn’t open it again. It would be kind of a permanent lock.
And how would option to work
I would say use both options option one is a good feature for those who want the permanently lock their phones.
and option too would be if you want to still make changes, which I’m not sure how that works
There would be an additional apk file to install, so that the accessibility service would be from a different package.
I have to say I’m impressed that a custom ROM developer takes the time to create System updates.
1.1.1 does not have any updates. Even though in system settings it shows you could download updates, there has not been any updates since its release.
In regard to the accessibility issue, I am wondering, if eGate is part of the ROM as a system app, would it then have the issue of accessibly being shut down when the app closes? I could build a custom ROM to test…
That would be interesting to test. Let me know if you need any help.
You can technically update the phone The developer did release a 1.1.5 but there’s no way of updating with a unlocked bootloader.
Hello, I also have a Qin F21 Pro - I’m having this accessibility bug as well. Is there any way to fix this?
Hi, if I have the cracked version that already has Google play, and I want to just root the phone, can I skip the beginning steps and TWRP and also the terminal steps and go straight to installing majisk?
Yes you can
Thanks. And everything will be exactly the same?
