Run in Background

On many phones, especially small cheap phones like the Qin, apps like WhatsApp dont run in the background which means I dont get notifications and I only get messages when I open the app

Anyone know how to enable background for these apps either through the phone or ADB?

If anyone can figure out how to get apps to run in the background on the Qin, I would also be glad to know.

Systemizing it wouldn’t do the job?

I can try that - can you tell me how to do that and I will test it and let you know if that works?

Does your phone have root

Not sure - its the qin f21 pro modified to work in the US following the xdaforums guide

The guide should tell you how to root. Did you follow that?

Yes

So move the WhatsApp app into system/app/ using a root file explorer

If you have magisk, I believe there are modules that can make it into a system app for you.

Turn off battery optimization for the app that you want running in the background

Unfortunately, that doesn’t make a difference on Qin phones.

does the qin not allow turning off batt optimization or does turning it off not make a diff?

Turning it off does not make a difference. It’s a weird bug specific to Qin devices.

interesting,
I looked into it a bit and it seems chinese apps have a different way of processing notifications and don’t handle us or eu notifications well. I’m curious to know what happens if you change the phone’s region to china, would it process the notification normally?

I have a similar issue with a messaging app, when I try to move it to a system app it says not enough storage in system, any advise?

RO2RW Module
Maximum extension
Skip till export fastboot sparse image
