Is anyone able to install apps on the sonim through the file manger?
it don’t spouse to work only apps that comes with the phone like there scot and etc.
does this work on any phone?
i think its not the original one because it says there was a problem parsing the package
Sonim purposely blocks installing apps that they haven’t approved, officially as a security feature.
It has nothing to do with the file manager, as the file manager opens apps with the package installer. The problem is the package installer, which is customized to only install apps with their signature.
I tried signing apps a bunch of different ways to get them to install without adb, including signing an app with Sonim’s signature from Zello, nothing worked.
The only thing that might work that I haven’t tried yet is to replace the package installer with a package installer from another phone, or with the package installer from an older xp3/ xp3plus that didn’t get the update that blocked installing 3rd party apps.
If anyone wants to try it, let us know what happens.

I think it should be possible for xp3800, its firmware is out there, still looking for a way to root the xp3900.
