Unlike most carrier-locked phones, the US Cellular Moto G Play 2024 comes unlocked. However, when it connects to Wi-Fi, it downloads an MDM app that prevents you from using the phone until you unlock it or activate service with them1. Does anyone know which package installs this app? If so, I can remove it before connecting to Wi-Fi, preventing the app from downloading and locking the phone. Any answers or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated!
I don’t have experience with this phone specifically, but I’ve had a few carrier specific phones that used a system app called “mobile services” that would install random apps, totally safe to uninstall
i figured it out its a app called paks and i cant remove it via adb and it doesnt allow me to revoke admin permissions any solutions?
Are you rooted?
configure your phone with a custom dns (nextdns is free and works great) and block 69.10.180.70 and 69.10.182.70 you could also use PCAPdroid on your phone to see if paks reaches out to any other domains
you could also try revoking some of its permissions and controls in special app access
no
i tried but it doesnt allow me to do spo bevcause its an admin app
